  • These unique table lamps have been made from the plenum chambers of Pratt & Whitney PW901A auxiliary power units. This mini jet engine, located in the tail cone of a Boeing 747 provides electrical power for the aircraft while on the ground, enabling lighting, air conditioning and ancillary systems to be powered up.

The plenum chamber has been powder coated in a dull gold finish and mounted on section of passenger seat leg structure, powder coated in matt black with a ‘disco light’ lacquer finish. A reclaimed oak base and a water-jet cut back plate has been added, to replicate the compressor blade pattern of a typical engine when the part- mirrored LED bulb is illuminated.

The lamp stands approximately 27” (690mm) tall. It is fitted with a UK 240V, 13 amp 3-pin plug. Only 2 have been produced.
