This fuel access door is from the underside of the starboard wing of former British Airways Boeing 747, G-CIVE.
Cleaned and polished to a brushed finish then laser-etched with an aircraft schematic and the airframe details and fitted with a hanging wire. It measures approximately 19 x 11” (490 x 280mm)
Manufacturer Serial Number 27350, G-CIVE first flew on 9th December 1994 and was delivered to London Heathrow on 20th. She was initially painted in the Landor ‘British Asia Airways’ livery of the South East Asian subsidiary and named ‘City of Sunderland’.
Her final revenue flight, as BAW84, landed at Heathrow from Vancouver on 20th March 2020, where she entered storage. Her final flight as BAW9172, departed on 16th September to St. Athan, Wales for part out and scrapping, having accumulated flown 117,086 hours, 13,356 flights and around 55 million miles. She was scrapped in October 2020.
