This genuine airfield runway edge light from Bristol Airport has been upcycled as a table lamp.  Stripped, blasted and powder-coated with a matt black and ‘sparkle’ finish it is mounted on polished aluminium tube and a solid oak turned base, which has been lightly oiled.  The light has been converted for 240v, indoor use and is fitted with a G9 200Lm LED bulb (23W equivalent). 
The original lenses are still fitted giving a focussed, bi-directional component with the glass dome offering 360 degree filtered coverage.  The lights still show the signs of their operational life with dinks, dents and scratches from 24/7, all-weather operations. 
Fitted with a 2.5m switched, 3-core cable the lights are fully tested.  The lights stand approximately 35cm (14in) high on a 23cm (9in) diameter base and weigh approximately 4Kg.
